I saw it today on my window and stopped the car and got out, then never saw it again but it's in there somewhere and I'm arachniphobic. It's important to kill it before tomorrow morning because it looked like one of those jumping spiders and if one lands on me I'm liable to wreck. I don't want to use a pesticide because of the fumes and it could damage the car's interior. I know spiders eat only live insects, not dead ones.

Wait until it climbs onto the gas pedal---and step on it!

It is supposed to be a cold night tonight. Leave just a slight crack in the window of the car. He will leave it over night to find a warm spot, or he will die if he gets too cold. If you are still worried tomorrow when you get in the car. Wear a coat, but turn up the air conditioner so that it's FREEZING in there. He will not come out of hiding if it's that cold, so you won't have to worry about him coming near you. Then just leave little cracks open in the window for a few days, he'll be sure to leave or he'll die.

Another thing would be to spray insecticide in the air of the car, A LOT of it, and shut it up. It won't be a direct spray to the fabric, but it will be enough to kill a spider.

Good Luck.

First off,, James cracked me up,,, that was funny,, Now to be serious,, I don't think that spiders will live more then 6 months more,, so I would take the bus for the next 6 months,, Keep the doors and windows on your car closed for them 6 months so no more spiders get in while the one that is in there is kicking the bucket,, good luck,, oh,, and i think they only take correct change now !!

Oh my dear I DO understand!! The only way if it isn't below freezing is to spay the inside, close it up over night and air it out in the day. Then vacuum everywhere and pray. You know of course that they come out at night so keep the windows UP at night and all other times except when you pull up to the fast food restaurant. And getting in and out at night is a real trick too. You know that they are waiting on the top of the car to ponce on you the minute you get out or to sneak inside. You have to learn to be really really quick. The fall is the worst time because they are tying to get somewhere warm.

Oh.. I do feel you pain... better you than me!!

jumping spiders are small and very mobile, if you want to kill it spray some corners in your car, where you don't think it will cause damage to the car, during his travels in your car the spider is bound to touch one of these spot and die.
if you don't want to kill it wait till you see it on one of the side windows and then open the window, it is very likely to jump out if you don't frighten it.
personally I think you should keep it in your car, give it a name and make it one of your pets, it's a very clean and interesting arachnid

Aww sweet jumping spider! My personal favorite. Any jumping spider does not bite people. You can handle them easily...well, maybe not for an arachnaphobe. They are not venamous to humans, ARE superior preditors of bad bite you bugs you don't want in your house. The more you learn about spiders, the less icky they become. again, it will not bite you, relax, enjoy the drive

Worry about the StOOpid drivers around you!!

They do sell glue traps for spiders. Or, you could get a Super Big Gulp straw and suck them up.

I would have to say, spray inside. Leave it closed up for an hour then air out the car for the rest of the evening.

Find it and squash it if you do not want to use pesticides. Keep some Kleenex or paper towels in your car to kill it w/. Or vacuum your car thoroughly. I wouldn't use pesticides in my car either.

It will show up again. I hope it's not a recluse spider instead, those kind can make you very sick.
