The tissue that had built up inside your uterine walls. Your body prepares for a baby by padding the uterus, and when you don't get pregnant, it "flushes" everything out.

It is the lining. Your body has prepared itself to receive a fertilized egg. That means once the egg is attached to the body, the lining immediately adheres it and sets in motion the noursihing process. However, if this material is not needed, it is released by the body into the flow of blood. And remember, there are never any stupid questions.

I think it's tissue from the walls of the uterus. Your body is preparing for possible pregnancy every month, and when there's no fertilized egg in the wall of the uterus, it has to get rid of the stuff.

What do you mean? Clots? Clots are thicker blood, or you can see some tissue in the blood...which would be the lining of your uterus. If that's what you are talking about.

Sometimes, especially towards the end of your period there can be mucous mixed with the blood.

Other than clots, that would be pieces of the endometrium, which are sloughing off during the process of menstruation.

Yes. Blood clots form, and you ARE sluffing off the lining of your uterus, so what you see is not all blood.

The lining of the uterus. It is the wall that the baby grows. That sheds when you have your period.
