I usualy do this \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\Sharedfolder (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = IP address) and it gives me a plase to put my username but it has computername\Guest and it will not let me change the username and Guest does not have a password. What do i do?

That will work across an inTRAnet but not the internet. The only way to get it working on the internet is by setting up an FTP site with a third party program.

If you are trying to do it on an intranet, you need to be given permission to the share. Go to the computer where the share is located, right-click on the share, click on security, and give yourself permission. Of course you have to have administrative rights to do that.

Sounds like a permissions issue. One of the computers is not set up to share on the Internet. Fix that and you shouldn't have a problem.

Use the program Hamachi... it will enable to share folders over the internet as if you were on the same network. It is a very cool tool to play around with...

get a server, and make it run apache on linux suse, and im sure yuou canj figure it out, apache is really nice
