no, you are absolutely right! unfortunately, there are those who like to "use" the Bible (out of context, and re-translated to suit their agenda) to justify their hatred.
I was always taught that God created and loves us all, and that He makes no mistakes. and Christianity is about love and acceptance.

The bible actually teaches both. A lot of times in the Old Testament the Isreali army wiped out with God leadership entire armys- some in excess of 125,000 people at one time. The New Testament teaches love, help and understanding.

Or as a preacher said it the other day on the radio "The Old Testament showed Justice, then Mercy and the New Testament showed Justice, Mercy and Love"

As far as "discrimination" the bible is very clear that gluttons, homosexuals, sexual imorality, drunkards, those for violence, et al will not inherit the kingdom of God

People used to quote the Bible to justify slavery (Leviticus 25:44-46, Ephesians 6:5) and this is no different. Those who dislike gay people are only hiding behind carefully selected Bible passages to promote their bigotry.

"Even the devil can cite scripture for his purpose."

You are absolutely correct which is why it gets me sp upset by all these people claiming to be Christian when they donn't leave the judgeing up to God like they're suppose to.

It really urks me how people use the Bible and God as an excuse to treat people horribly. I wonder if God appriciates being a tool?

People use the bible the way that fits their life , or they dont use it. We all know right from wrong , we dont need a book written by men 2000 years ago. We all know homosexuality is not normal . That is why people have a hard time coming out or telling their parents no matter what their religion is if any.

No, you're not wrong... you're just in the minority among Christians... but thanks for stating what the Bible SHOULD be used for, because some people need lessons on that subject.
