I read that if you are late for work, you have to call their 1800 number and give your boss a confirmation number stating that you called the number. Isnt that a waste of time? I would skip it to try to get to work faster!

I think Wal*Mart is stupid because they don't let their employees work full time so they can't unionize and get benefits.

Idk I guess you should comeback with these excellent lines haha OR you could just talk to them and tell them how them calling you stupid makes you FEEL... either one tbh 10. Every time you open your mouth all you do is prove your ignorance. Maybe you should stop doing that. 9. 95% of everything you say is completely moronic. The other 5% is only slightly less so. 8. That's an opinion, not a fact. And, who would listen to the opinion of a miscreant (MISS-kree-ant) like you? 7. Oh, really? Please go on. ...I can hardly wait to hear your brain barf, again. 6. Is that your honest assessment, or are you on drugs again? 5. Your parole officer won't like it when I tell him you're harassing me. 4. Does this mean you have stopped wetting the bed? Wasn't that our deal? You could call me stupid all you want when you stopped wetting the bed? 3. What do I care? Who do you think believes you anyway? 2. Well, I guess I better not list you as a reference on my resume, then. 1. Why, thank you! It is so reassuring to know there will be buffoons like you to mow my lawn and flip my burgers in ten years.

It's the principle. It is a courtesy to let them know that you will in fact be coming and that you haven't just decided to flag it. My boss once had a boss in London that would prefer you get off a train if you knew you were going to be late and call, then wait half an hour for the next train rather than turn up ten minutes late for work.

That is just another stupid thing done by a stupid company. Wal Mart is a horrible company and is ruining America. Did you know that there is 1 Wal Mart employee for every US Citezen? I read that in magazine the other week

You are equating calling in sick with being late for work. Two different issues. Most companies have sick call lines.

I've used the line 3 times to call off sick because I was planning to quit anyway so I just wanted to screw my boss. What if you're stuck in traffic with no cell phone, how the hell are you supposed to call it in? I say don't use it if you don't have to and it won't get logged anywhere and you won't get in trouble.

I like the idea. It puts the onus on the individual to take care of their own business, instead of saying well I called such and such. Too many people pass the buck.
