Me and my gf have been together for about 4 1/2 years. we're 21 now. is it the right time to propose to her or should i wait a little while?

A promise ring would be a nice thing to do at this point. Wait another year and then have a long engagement. Give yourselves plenty of time to plan w/o pressure.

Your the only one that can answer that question. Sounds like you've known each other a while. If you have to ask this question than I would say the time is not right. You'll know when time is right. You have to be able to look at your girlfriend and know that this is the only woman you want to be with for the rest of your life.

4 1/2 yrs gives you a pretty good idea of how the two of you get along. Follow your nose

I think a Christmas engagement would be nice. It is certainly time to pop the question.
