Papa Mac - Being proud of coping with, and overcoming ANY type of abuse is a matter of character, not sexuality. You've misread my question.

I will not give homophobic bigots any reason to continue their behavior by giving them the false belief that I am strong because of them. I am strong because I have grown to be that way, I had a good upbringing. Homophobs are nothing but scared, ignorant, misinformed people who have been raised the wrong way. I feel sorry for them, but I dont give them a lick of credit for my behavior.

Well I guess that maybe I am just wishy-washy, but I don't have much of an opinion either way. I usually just ignore homophobic bigots, especially the ones that post here, with all those questions about tracer. They serve NO purpose, and therefore I couldn't care less about them. Their opinion matters to me about as much as logic matters to GWB.

I love it. They make me laugh. They are over the net, so they don't bug me that much. They know if we see them in person, we will kick their @$$ with our high heels or purses. They would feel as low as we do in that situation. Trust me, I have beaten up some idiots before that have started the whole ignorant thing. Not proud of beating up what God.....sorry, what the fallen angel has made them out to be............ IDIOTS!

Other than YA I do not have to deal with any homophobic idiots. Although seeing some of their questions and responses just serves for entertainment, I try not to take them too seriously.

I don't believe homophobic bigots have made me a stronger person...
when they blather on about their own agendas...I smile
when the thump their Bibles in my direction...I chuckle
when they condemn me and my kind to the fiery depths hell...I laugh
I believe they have made me a more accepting person...
a more sympathetic person...
and have provided me with better sense of humor.....

Everybody has something in life they have to overcome ours just happen to be nasty and fanatical. If you think about it, any liberal thought is usually persecuted by scared people afraid of change.

Whether it's an immature jr. high student that thinks it's funny to make fun of us or an angry middle aged "adult" that think we're heathans, we're still here.

As long as we don't go back in our closets and retreat, we will all be stronger because of them.

I'm proud, not of their comments, but of the way I don't allow myself to retaliate (most of the time, anyway)... were it not for them, what would we have to overcome? What could we say we fought against?

I have been strengthened by by my late partner's vile family. I was horrified by their treatment of Gwen's remains and when I was forbidden to visit her grave and was abused at the graveside I wanted so badly to kill the woman who shouted "LESBIAN? NOYOURLESSTHANNOTHING".
The process of recovery through to forgiveness is not one I would recommend to anyone. They still detest me and I think they hate it when I smile if I see any of them. Perhaps I really am "bad".
Strength and love, Rose P.

You need thick skin to make it in society . Everybody falls into a sub category in their life .Why would anyone be proud of their sexual orientation gay or straight . I can see being proud of yourself or a goal you have accomplished.

Yes , I would concede a 50/50 split with you on this one , it does mention "homophobic" and its in the GLBT section so one would assume "gay pride" as a logical deduction from the word "proud" as refering to sexual orientation.

Glad to see you are a rational human being.
