It is my all time favorite book. I am sorry Harper Lee never published anything else. I thought the characters were really well drawn, I felt as though I knew them all. I think I related to Scout a bit as I was a tomboy and close to my ather growing up.
I think the story is still relevant today, the issues of racism, justice or the lack there of, single parenting and the magic og growing up. I hope you liked it too.

Yes, I have read the book "To Kill a Mockingbird." I read it and enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new or different book to read. I read it in high school and enjoyed reading it very much.

Must be that time of year- I've seen a lot of this book lately.
I enjoyed it a zillion years ago. The concept of the Mockingbird is based on the loss of innocence.

Yes I have. I read TKAM in 10th grade in American Literature class. It was fun for me, taught me a lot of stuff about prejudice, and how some people can be really dumb.

The Finches were very lovable characters, and there were a lot of hateable characters, like the Ewells.

Yes...35 years ago...Supposed to be classic literature. I suppose that I would agree that it is, but it makes the people of the south seem backwards, in some respects. Scout was the youngest character but she had the most sense in the book.

B+

I read it in high school and loved it. The story is rich with symbolism and it was great to have a teacher who was great at explaining it. There is also a movie version, old black and white.

One of my all time favorites! IMO, Atticus is the most noble character in literature and Scout is an equally inspiring character. I wish that Harper Lee is brilliant!
