I am going to a wedding this weekend just as a guest and my friend told me not to wear pantyhose because they are out of style. I am just curious if this is a true statement is it out of style to wear pantyhose?

Never out of style. I live in Southern Calif. and I wish more women would realize that you have to have great pair of legs to pull off the "bare leg look". I don't want to see the scares, cellulite, and stubble on your legs. Ewe!!! Just like us guys get a 5 o'clock shadows, so do you women on their legs and stuff. Anyways yes to wearing nylons at the wedding.

Pantyhose should be in style and add that finished look and professionalism. Unfortunately, still enough places have lax dress codes. Women will come in this summer much like the past 8 or so summers with bare legs, flip flops, or sandals. They'll say that pantyhose are too uncomfortable in hot weather, though most professional women who should wear them are in an office with AC. On the flip side, guys will also try to forgo the tie. Those who wear pantyhose will do so b/c they care about their professional appearance or have to due to strict office rules that are enforced. I hope that I'm wrong. Nothing beats a great pair of legs with pantyhose.

I think the people who don't like wearing pantyhose are the ones who say it's out of fashion. I agree with others that formal events and office attire should include pantyhose. Bare legs are for casual events.

Pantyhose can't be in or out of style. Just like panties or bras.
Whether or not wear pantyhose depends on occasion and on your dress and shoes, not on the fasion. Lack of pantyhose in a formal setting can be considered underdressed, depending on the dress you wear.

I 100% agree with snowflake's answer. And tell your friend that they're an idiot. Don't have your friends talk you into dressing like a skank. Pantyhose make a woman's legs look sophisicated and sexy. Hose are a must especially at a formal event.

Hosiery is coming back in this fall. There are lots of patterns and fun colors available. Don't worry about what's 'in style' - just be you. Wear what makes you feel good about yourself. I for one wear pantyhose every day no matter what 'they' say - I find them comfortable and flattering. ((pssst... my legs get more attention than their bare couterparts when I am out with friends)) Just have fun! And most importantly, be YOU.

They're not out of style...infact now thats its cooling down..they are in season. Most women prefer not to wear them in the summer because they're too hot and make them uncomfortable. They definitely are a substitue for no tan and pale white legs.

As was said above - don't worry about people that say what's in or out - just wear what you want, as long as you are comfortable. Personally I think bare legs are very unprofessional.

I live in Southern California.....hose have been "out" for a while. Even in winter time.....everyone wears open two pumps, sandals and slings without hose.
