Depends on the individual as contrary to the mistaken belief that a human life cant be valued, the reality is that everyday lives are valued by insurance companies, and actuaries. So the best people to ask this question to is a life insurance specialist.

As a previous post suggested, if you ask a life insurance expert they might tell you that a life can be either substantially less or more valued at a million dollars. If someone makes $20,000 a year washing dishes and has no kids or family, their life could in the short-term be valued at much less than $1 million; over 50 years it could reach $1 million. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet could be valued in the tens of billions and in the trillions over 50 years!
This question is very abstract and people usually assume that every life is definitely worth $1 million... but the practical reality is that an actual economic value CAN be assigned to a person, and sometimes that value is sadly much less than $1 million.
However, if you ask me, the POTENTIAL value of someone IF they actualized all their potential is in the billions of dollars... usually our environment, education, family and other factors conspire to crush our potential economic value though.

It's a trick question. You cannot compare or measure the "value " of life with a dollar amount, but, in the spirit of the question, I'll say that a life is worth a million dollars, but a million dollars is not worth a life.

to me neither one. life is not worth to have a million dollars let alone the other way around. life is not about money. it is about living it to the fullest. if you asked me which would i rather have i would say life without the million dollars. when you live your life to its complete fullest then it is very much worth the million dollars or more.

I consider life to be priceless. But I sure wouldn't mind if someone gave me a million dollars and proved me wrong! There would be no arguments out of me!
