If they want to wear makeup, then sure. Start out light, go with a little lip gloss and some mascara and see if you like it. A lot of parent's object to it, but thirteen is the age that most people start to wear makeup. Go to a CVS and look at their makeup section. Or go to a mall with a Victoria Secret and sample their makeup supply. No one really needs makeup, as beauty lies in intelligence and personality. Makeup just brings out facial features and hides blemishes. Have fun...

if they want to . Personally I feel you should only have it for playing around , because you are so naturally beautiful. Like, a really really shiny lip gloss or a over-glittery eye shadow . For three reasons :
one , because its you learn from it. This is the time of your life for making mistakes ! I went through a period with a lot of sparkly green lipstick smeared on my eyelids ( I swear ) and I've come out of it better. By the end of it all you'll be a makeup pro : knowing exactly how to put on any thing and knowing what colors/styles suit you .
two , its the only makeup you should be wearing . You are ( like I said before) naturally beautiful . You have glowing skin ,shiny eyes, full lips and so forth . Don't bother with all the complicated make up stuff thats supposed to get rid of all your supposedly bad features . You have no bad features! So don't worry about foundation , or contouring, or any of that. You don't need to ! Enjoy the carefreeness of not needing to spend 20 minutes every morning to make yourself look perfect! ( I don't do that , yet ... but , you know ...) The most you'll ever need of that stuff for the next eight years or so is a bit of zit cover-up.
three , because its FUN ! Its like playing dressup , only with your face ! Don't be afraid to experiment Thats why I wear makeup .. because I'm bored :P
But if you feel pressure to wear makeup even though you don't want to , DON'T . Only wear it if you're comftable with it . Natural beauty will shine through ! :D
Basically if you feel like wearing makeup , wear it .

its not a question of should u or should u not. it depends on whether or not u want to. i am 13, and i wear makeup and have been since i was 12 and a half. most girls in my grade do wear makeup, and i think that if u make it look natural and light enough (like a little marcara or a small coat of eyeliner), it can make u look prettier. but if u are uncomfortable with how it makes u look, dont do it, just be urself! i hope this helps!!!

I don't see a problem with a little bit of makeup. I wasn't allowed to wear a certain shade of lipstick in highschool so I just put it on after I left the house. I would worry more about the clothes than the makeup.

Well, it's OK to wear makeup, but I heard that makeup is bad for your face. So I don't wear makeup because I think that even without makeup, I still look good. Either way I think that you would probably look better without make up.

when i was 13 i wore heavy makeup only because i didnt have the guidance from a mother to teach me what was right and what was wrong. i eventually toned down and only used my natural look, which was the best.
when my younger sister started wearing make up at 13 it was ok by my step mom and dad but only to a certain extent. she couldnt overdo it where it was totally obvious that she was wearing makeup. a lil bit of eye liner and a lil bit of mascara and some lip gloss was ok. she wasnt allowed to wear any kind of blush or facial powder of any sort. when she was grounded, she wasnt allowed to wear makeup.
i thought that they went easy on her, but i taught her that she had natural beauty and should lighten up with the black! now she only sticks to a lil bit of mascara and chapstick. haha.

there is nothing wrong with wearing a little makeup at 13 but you can still look natural as if you aren't wearing a lot of it

Depends...At 13, I had bad acne, and I was very happy that my mom let me wear concealer. It gave me a little more confidence. But at the same time, she wouldn't let me go overboard. I wasn't allowed to have the heavy eyeliner, bright lipstick, etc. I think it depends on the situation, but as a whole, I'd limit a thirteen-year-old to lip gloss, powder and mascara.

NO! A 13 yr old doesnt need make-up. if she starts applying make-up at this age by the time she gets to her mid 20's she would end up looking older than her age even when she's stil young. She can start like when she's 18. Afterall, there's no hurry in life.

too young. it's the same reason that 13 year olds should dress tastefully instead of like paris hilton and britney spears. that age is very impressionable and a 13 year old has years to wear makeup. don't rush growing up.
