most auto stores have a chart. but i strongly recomend that you have it replaced, they have a machine that sucks out the old and installs all new fluid. i had it done in my 92 cheve van 350 cid. it took about 17 qts. if they just drop the screen and clean it , etc, it will take about 5 qts. for about $90. you can have all brand new fluid which is very good for the life of your tranny.

Go to a transmission shop or your dealer. All transmissions are not the same. They take different type oil at different levels. Also, Some must be checked with engine running, some in gear, and some warm but off.

It all depends on the size of the vehicle. If its a truck. about 18-20 quarts. If its a car about 13-14 quarts. I speak from transmission service experience.

It is not okay to put power steering fluid in the transmission but it is however okay in some vehicles to put transmission fluid into the power steering system.
