i need to change my transmission fluid and don't have an owner's manual. How many quarts do I need to put in it.

most auto stores have a chart. but i strongly recomend that you have it replaced, they have a machine that sucks out the old and installs all new fluid. i had it done in my 92 cheve van 350 cid. it took about 17 qts. if they just drop the screen and clean it , etc, it will take about 5 qts. for about $90. you can have all brand new fluid which is very good for the life of your tranny.

Go to a transmission shop or your dealer. All transmissions are not the same. They take different type oil at different levels. Also, Some must be checked with engine running, some in gear, and some warm but off.

It all depends on the size of the vehicle. If its a truck. about 18-20 quarts. If its a car about 13-14 quarts. I speak from transmission service experience.

It is not okay to put power steering fluid in the transmission but it is however okay in some vehicles to put transmission fluid into the power steering system.

well it depends on,#1 what yr vehicle it is in,#2 make of vehicle,#2 what kinda transmission u have,Ect.they can take any where from 9qts-13 qts.Good Luck

i own a repair shop,and first you need to learn to give enough information on a vehicle so we can answer the question good,were not mind readers out here just mechanics,and we don't know what kind of vehicle you own or nothing,we only go by what you tell us you have ,good luck i hope this help,s.

I don`t know what make model year you have , so the easy thing to do is call the dealer that sells your model and ask service dept .

take it to a lube shop takes 16quarts and clener etc should be around 120.00 i reccomend a bg service --find bg.com- will give you places in your area
