hmmmmm, I'm going with personal weakness. I know I have a weakness for you, or is it a disease?

Addiction is a disease. When you are an addict and you get sober you are still an addict youre just an addict with a choice but once you use you no longer have a choice you are in the grips of a disease if allowed to control will ultimately kill you.

Alcoholism is a disease, it runs in families. I suppose drug addiction becomes a disease but seeking out and taking drugs in the first place is personal weakness.

Both, from a personal weakness to a disease. Just like gambling addiction and other diseases of the like.

Drug addiction is what it is, an addiction. Most drugs act on neurotransmitters, therefore, the addiction is largely due to physical dependence. It is a self produced disease, if you like.

All depends on what type of drugs you are talking about. If it is pot, it is a personal preference. Anything after THC usually is an addiction and should be treated. I smoke pot for 22 years, I could quit any time I wanted to but did not because I preferred to smoke it rather not. On the other hand I had to go to DA for everything else. COKE, CRACK, ALCOHOL, SMOKING, and many more.

I would say "Personal Weakness".
I think people do drugs, because their friends do them. Some people have personal problems, that they don't want to deal with,so they get "High";,not seeming to realize, that once they sober-up,the problems will still be there. They want to be a part of the crowd. When you see someone "strung out" on drugs, once upon time, the person may have thought, that it would not happen to them,on the first try. I'd say is better to be safe, and not sorry. (PS) I also agree with: Trouble42
