Focus on the hair - big and lots of product. You hair shouldn't be able to move. Back in the day, I knew people who's hair was so solid, thing could bounce off it. Lots of girls also had a fanlike thing going on with their bangs. Big colorful earings are good (if you have them) and a significant amount of eyeliner.
Since you don't have alot of time, throw on some skinny jeans (if you have them) and perhaps a shirt that goes off one shoulder. The authentic 80's footwear was white high top Reebok arerobic sneakers (with slouch socks) or Capezios ( a type of dance shoe). Good luck and have fun!

you need BIG hair, if you use the hairspray and the hair dryer you can really get the right effect. using a clip to pull your sides back is also a good idea but just leave those bangs HIGH
clothes wise, leg warmers, leggins, big earrings(plastic especially) anything lace, boots or converse tennis shoes(what were we thinking?)
have lots of fun.....the 80's were a great time for us no doubt

Look up "Flashdance" and that's pretty much the look you'll be going for.
