It was on a programme called "the fingerbobs" which was part of a series of lunchtime programmes called "Watch with mother"

The programme was called Fingermouse too.

Yuffy lifts a finger ......... and a mouse is there.

I saw a documentary about it - apparently the "creature" was an ad hoc contrivance born of desperation.

It was a short lunchtime programme show (BBC ?) in its own right, rather than part of another show.

They did do a 'remake' of the show in the 1990's, but it did not last long.

Fingerbobs with strange guy with beard? Looked kinda creepy. the same fingerbobs can be found in Ann Summers shops in boxed collection. Strange but true.
