Where I live the backs will average between a 4.4 and 4.8. A five flat wouldn't get an opportunity unless he was a good blocking fullback. If you have an opportunity go for it good fullbacks are hard to find.

i would say no to tail back, you have had experience at full, and no offense, but 5 flat isnt good enough to pull it for most schools at running back, i just switched schools too right before my junior year, and i switched to tailback from wide reciever, and i regret it, i didnt get any playing time, and i want to switch back, but none of the coaches want me to, and i run a 5 flat. football season is quite a ways away again, so you have time to get that down, but i would try for a 4.8 atleast before you switch, and i also wouldnt switch if you are bad at taking handoffs. a coach always hates a fumble! the whole team does. Once i had a 35 yard run to the one yard like and the full back screwed it up and fumbled it on the hand off because he isnt good at handoffs, and it made me really really mad. So i suggest maybe going to tightend or guard if you cant become better at hand offs.

You sound motivated and aggressive and fast. Three of the four things needed to excel on defense, the fourth being a complete lack of regard for your personal wellbeing. If you can give a hit at the knees to an oncoming truck, there is a future for you on defense. If not, go out for fullback, your size and speed will help as you block for the halfback/tailback on most plays and pass block for the quarterback on the rest.
Don't forget special teams. Patriots linebacker Larry Izzo was unnoticed until he excelled on kick and punt coverage then got his dream shot as a linebacker. Good luck.

It sounds like your a linebacker, or a Strong Safety. Think of it this way: If you play awesome at RB and rush for 2500+ yards, you wont even get a sniff from any colleges because of your 40 time. If you have the same success at linebacker, you have a shot at playing some college ball.

Go out for linebacker it is better to be the one laying the hit then taking it. And your forty doesn't seem fast enough to be a good tail back. The tail backs on my team run that and there younger then you. Most tail backs in high school run closer to the 4.5.

You sound a little slow for halfback, outsider linebacker or the secondary.
I would go for middle linebacker or tight end.
You don't have to be as fast for middle linebacker and you can hit people. Tight end, you don't have to worry about the handoffs and you already know how to block.
Good luck to ya!

you should go for running back. You say your able to run quickly, break tackles, your tall, and musccular, your perfect for a running back.
