I would say, if you love Christmas, you can prepare for it all year long, by getting things as you find them on clearance or if you just really like something....why wait till later when it may not be available. But then, put everything in a designated spot so nothing gets forgotten, and hold off till after Thanksgiving. It keeps it special and doesn't over shadow Thanksgiving which is important too.

Day after Thanksgiving. I love the season so much I want the decorations up as long as possible. Plus you don't want to bust your butt decorating only a week before and have to take em down so soon! God Bless and Have a Merry Christmassssssssssssss!!!

Decorate when you feel comfortable-I suggest starting after Thanksgiving, that is typically how I prefer to decorate. This way you have plenty of time to enjoy the holiday spirit, without appearing like those stores that put their decorations up in June.

I have already started buying the ingredients for goodies.

I will decorate the house and tree the day after Thanksgiving. But, if you want to do it sooner, go for it. Way up north, they start setting up the outdoor decorations soon after Halloween.
