Two words, my friend: Cheap labor.

I agree with you 110 percent. It is very annoying. I often wonder if anything is USA-made anymore, or made in at least a country other than China, for that matter. Especially if you are in a Dollar Tree, Dollar General, K-Mart, Walmart, Target, Claire's, or almost any store for that matter, you name it, it comes from China. The reason why I do not like it is because China has quite a reputation for their products being faulty, poorly made, or dangerous. I have gotten very particular about where my items come from, especially if they are food or health and beauty products. Having everything come from China also hurts the economy. Unfortunately, you and I do not have much of a choice but to buy MIC products if we are looking for certain kinds of items. There are even websites like Made-in-China.com. I wonder, why do we need a MIC website when we can easily go out and buy them anywhere?

Because China's cost of production is lowest in the world and China itself has the world's largest domestic market, which is growing very fast.

To stay competitive in the world market, most of the multinational corporations start with contract manufacturing by licensing their product design and quality standards to Chinese firms. Later, when the volume grows, they set up their own joint ventures with Chinese partners for domestic production and export.

You can check this out yourself when you buy household appliances, electronic products like computer parts, cameras, music players etc. It is a different story with cars. China has a huge domestic market for cars. Cars made in China have not hit the world market yet.

Everything is not made in China. China does break international copywrite and patent laws, as well as providing a very inexpensive labor force.

The United States has basically taxed US busineses to death and the alternative is to produce goods overseas.

Vote democratic and watch more jobs leave the US.

Because they get really cheap labor in China, then they can sell those products here and make a huge profit.

The Chinese people are living in a Workers Paradise!
The Chinese Communist Politburo graciously allow their populace to work, not for themselves, but for the commonweal of the Party. (The Party is the only segment of the people that matter).
Additionally, our government's acknowledgment and encouragement of corporate profit-grabbing Might contribute to this manufacturing phenomenon---maybe. I'm not completely sure of this as I've been drunk for the past ten years; ever since my job was exported somewhere to the East.

Because in China they manufacture everything without UNIONS raising the cost of labor so high that companies can pay shipping and still make a larger profit.

because things have changed since the days of yesteryear ... no longer does the US export more than it imports ... all the corporations have moved oversees that made things in the states and now the US imports much more than it exports .... so, more high-paying jobs lost in the states ... and more cheap stuff bought from oversees ... and people wonder why the economy is going to crap ..

It is absolutely not, however cheap labor costs and the ease to transport it here have caused the huge amount of Chinese imports.
