If so, was your result accurate

Home pregnancy tests ( HPT's) look for levels of pregnancy hormones (Hcg ) of 20 - 50 mIU/ml depending on the test. Most like First Response look for a level of 25 mIU/ml. You can use pretty much any HPT the first 4 days before your expected period and get a positive result. They are only 99.9% accurate if your levels of Hgc are high enough for the test to detect it.

I attached a link that shows the usual levels found during pregnancy week by week. As you will be able to notice it could be till week 6 ( 6 weeks after the first day of your last cycle ) before your levels are even at 20 mIU/ml.

I have added also a list of Hpt's and at what levels of Hcg they test at.

All brands of Hpt's are accurate, even the really cheap ones to the really expensive ones. But they are ONLY accurate if your levels are high enough.

Good luck! from one TTC to another.

Hope this helped!

I use both their ovulation kit and have used their pregnancy test. Both have been reliable and cost less!
