Thats so true...i believe its simple jealousy...some ppl dont like to see you get ahead. They have imperfections in their life and seeing misery in others somehow calms them down.

Misery loves company... when people who are down see others who rejoice in their happiness it makes them feel that much more bitter. Some people can't stand the fact that other people are happy when they are not, and in turn will try to put a damper on the other person's happiness. People like to see you low because it makes them feel better about themselves and whatever situation they're in. It's like when you fall down in front of a group of people and they laugh... it just seems to be a very strange and dark side of human nature. But take solace in the fact that not all people are like that. The ones that are just kind of stand out a little more than the ones that aren't.

Human's love drama! When you're happy and doing well, there's no drama to advertise! Don't you notice when you're doing well nobody checks up on you. When you've got problems, everyone is your therapist! I think people love the drama and the negativity because it allows them to think that you and them (the back stabbers) are in the same category. When you're happy and well, jealousy sometimes sets in with the back stabbers because you are no longer a reflection of them and the negativity in their own lives. When you're doing well, they see in you what they would like to have and achieve. Don't let the back stabbers keep you back. Let them talk about you. That just means you're special!

its like a new car, you dont notice how many people actually have the same type of car until you have it. you only notice mean ppl when your up. do you notice the up people too?? and what about when your down, notice other downers also??
also people use the power and control they get from bringing you down to force others down as well.
my grandma is wise. she once said to bring a happy-filled room it only takes downer of a person to down the WHOLE room. but to bring it up takes at least ten!!
if people who are bringing you down bring you up there's something weird there...but if your REAL friends never try to take you down and are always trying to bring and keep you up, stay with just those ppl...
stay pos-E-tive lol :-D

Because most people don't feel good about themselves and/or life. They are further discouraged when they are having a bad day and someone seems to be having a great one. Don't let it get you down and don't let them bring you down to their level. Misery loves company, don't buy into it.

because misery loves company! honestly i go through the same thing every day, i've come to the conclusion that people just love drama. I don't think they mean to do it but i think we've become so used to wanting to hear about bad news that people kinda of expect it. Also, i've realized that some friends that were only around when bad things happened to me were'nt that great of friends to begin with.

they are jealous that you are happy. simple as that. when you have a bad day, don't you hate it when people are smiling. it makes you feel like they caused your pain when they just said hi. its the exact same thing. you may not have done anything wrong but they are just in a bad mood when your sad people seem nicer because you think no one has it as bad as you do.

Because we all have conflicting times of being happy and depressed. We can't all be happy at the same time, or all depressed at the same time, because nothing would get done.

It makes people feel better about their own lives.Maybe you should consider the type of people you are around and find some real friends. Sorry if it's family.

Because it's man's nature to do so! We have animal instincts that we feel if we are superior than others, we can't be touched. We feel strong. I think every human being has that kind of behavior. Some saying goes, "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger".
