The saying is, the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. It means that you shouldn't be envious of other people because if you traded your familiar problems for theirs, you wouldn't be happy with the outcome. So don't be covetous, yo.
Of course an angel would be better. Personally, though, I don't want to deal with either one. Too weird. I guess the angel would be better, but the angel better do its angel thing without my knowledge--I don't want to deal with it directly.

The devil at this time is not better than the angels cause the angels are not judged yet and Satan is. Now the saints will judge the angel at end time for the work that they did here on earth.
