The only thing you can take while you are pregnant is Tylenol. Call your dr and let him/her know that you are having bad headaches, they may be able to give you more suggestions.

Don't keep taking Tylenol. It's a liver toxin to you and your baby. Try natural remedies like a warm compress on your forehead. Also, get some natural lavendar oil. Just smelling the oil can make your headache go away very quickly and it will relax you. Try it on your pillow and lay in bed for a while. Also, there is a pressure point in the webbing between your thumb and forefinger. If you have a headache you'll feel a hard lump/tension in that area. Squeeze it with your fingers. It will hurt to do so at first but it will relieve your headache.

I know how you feel. I didnt want to keep taking tylenol either and it wasnt working. THe thing that actually helped me with my headache is a shower. I got into the shower and just let the water run on me for a while actually, and my headache actually went away, then I went and took a nap. I was having horrible pounding headaches for about 2 weeks a few weeks ago and that is what finally took care of it. I guess its just the soothing calm of the water that helped. It couldnt hurt to try.

Ok I am a migraine suffer. And had this prob with my preg 1st I advise you to talk to the doc and see if something could be up with your blood pressure and ask for the test for diabetes.
Ok if you have cut back on caffeine this could be withdrawal
Ok I never used this but heard it works peppermint oil]
I use lavender oil this works. use candles and oils you can rub into the temples of your head this all with the lavender smell
Drink water lots of water this could be a sign of dehydration
Get in to Preg Yoga because it could be due to stress this I loved so much because it helped with my labor.
The last thing, make sure you are resting enough and sleeping on a firm pillow and not sitting at the computer for long times.
That’s it.

And what ever you do get off taking any meds Tylenol will ruin your liver

If it's a tension headache, due to stress, you or your partner can give you a neck rub. Start from the base of your head (where the back of your head and neck meet), take your index finger with your middle finger and your thumb, make like you're pinching your skin, but don't pinch, just rub in circular motions. Do that and gradually work your way down towards your shoulders. That should relieve your headache.

I would get a lot of tension headaches in the beginning of my pregnancy. I read that if you were prone to headaches and migranes before your pregnancy, chances are, you'll have them more frequently then someone who doesn't.

Good luck!

I am 17wks and also experiencing this very problem. It got so unbearable - to the point that i was crying myself to sleep and couldn't see properly, that i went to the doctors on Monday and he told me they were migraines due to the pregnancy (never experienced them before now)! He prescribed something that is perfectly safe for pregnant women to take and told me to lie in a dark quiet room when i started to feel the onset. Granted that is hard at times, i mean i do have a job (lol!) but it really does help! I still haven't taken the pills he prescribed (i haven't felt they are intense enough to take medication that will affect baby... even though he reassures me they are safe... but i'm a bit of a stickler like that) but the dark quiet room helps - and also looking away from my computer more often than i usually would. He also told me to reduce stress because it contributes to the severity, so i've stopped (well tried) stressing so much (unneccesarily) about the "what if's" of what could happen to baby!

Good luck and congrats re: baby!!

Lie in a dark room with a cold compress on your forehead, take some Tylenol(it's safe)and try to sleep. There isn't much else you can do. I feel your pain, headaches are the worst!

taking regular Tylenol is okay at this stage in your pregnancy. To avoid taking it and prevent the headaches. Here are some helpful tips, one, try eating small meal at least 5-6 times a day, glass of juice and toast is an example, ask your OB/GYN if iron pills will help, iron pills will help add much needed blood into your system. And lastly, stress, if you are stressing anything, from what to eat to what to wear it has a great effect on the baby and it WILL fight back to survive. be good to your body and your baby
