We raised money for a cancer patient by having a basketball game the teachers against the students on the ball team. After the game a local DJ held a dance all proceeds went to the cancer patient. We raised over $7000. We had 2 policeman volunteer there time, plus one fireman and 2 refs. We also sold refreshments and we raffled off 2 quilts some local women made and donated. We chared $3 for adults and $2 for children so everyone could afford to come, and left a sign at the door that donations were appreciated. I couldnt believe the people leaving donations. We had held several bake sales and a yard sale that no way came close to what me made off this ballgame and dance. Good Luck to you.

A few fund raising ideas could be: an auction with donated items, with a dinner and dance. Also, a drawdown is loads of fun!!! We have many of these in our area. Many if not all of the items for the auction and gifts to give at the drawdown can be donated. the DJ and food for the dinner may also get donated or discounted for a good cause. If you need more information you can contact me via e-mail. I have been chairman for 2 drawdowns, they can raise around $4000 - $5000. Good Luck, I will say a prayer for the family.

Set out donation jars at gas stations, grocery stores, etc. We always had donation jars at our store for children in need of surgeries, etc.. Do you go to a church? See if the youth group would do a car wash or bake sale to raise money for the baby. Good luck with everything. I hope all turns out well.

Get a hold of local news stations and see if they can help?? Open a bank account in the childs name and write a letter to send to anyone in the phone book asking for a donation.

Try contacting a church. I don't know for sure, but maybe the Make A Wish Foundation can help them, Oprah, Dr. Phil or Montel. I wish you and that family all the best during this time.
