Golden thread. Gold, I guess, for light and truth--like Apollo, the golden god. Maybe they meant it was a wire--that might make more sense than thread. Thread might get snagged on something and break. I'd prefer wire.

I mean, the next time I go in a labyrinth to face down a monster. I'd prefer wire.

Actually it was common thread. It is called in greek : O mitos (the thread) tis Ariadnis (of Ariadni)
