It really just depends on what features you want. Lets say you just want to listen to music on it. The new 1 gb ipod shuffle costs 79.99 but a creative zen is like $56. If you want to be able to watch videos then I would go with the ipod video because everything else is pretty much crap. Also there is a real small mp3 player called a mobibblu. Its like as small as a die (dice) but its sweet for 89.99

Ipods, Creative or any other brand are ok!
But, why carry one more device?. I use a phone with an MP3 player included, and 1Gb memory, that goes on for almost 1 day of uninterrupted music.
And if you want to change the music, just move the files from your computer to the phone.
You can buy a phone from 256Mb to 4Gb of memory..., think about it, less cables, less ac adaptors.

CD gamers i'm no longer waiting for an ipod or mp3 participant yet... perhaps whilst i'm 40 in the event that they do no longer look to be previous via then (i'm 29). I even have had my digicam for 3 years and there remains in all probability a gaggle of stuff i do no longer understand the thank you to do with it yet. Texting, making telephone calls, and shooting is fantastically plenty all i will do with my cellular telephone. i do no longer desire to bypass by using each and all the difficulty of downloading songs just to hearken to them each time everywhere without the skipping or scratching.

If you get a Creative (1gbZen Nano Plus in my opinion) you can just transfer music to it, no iTunes crap. Creative is a lot cheaper than iPod. You can get 5-7 nano plus for 200 or 2-3 shuffles that aren't as small.

Anything by Creative is great. All their players beat the iPod because they have FM radio. iPods are very weak mp3 players in my opinion.

I've got to say my iPod. I love it. Easy to install, easy to charge, easy to download music from iTunes, easy to download music from non-Apple sites (iTunes). Small, discreet (the nano and shuffle), nanos have a lot of memory at a $200 price point. They come in many colors so that you can personalize it. A lot of accessories available for it. And, you can buy iTunes prepaid cards so that you can buy music if you are too young to have a credit card.... or to get them as a gift (I'm asking for iTunes cards for Christmas). Great device.
Hope this helps!
