OK, let me change the original question. What wood is used in our homes constructions? Did we get this wood locally, or we imported it form China, Oregon or Canada? If you know, what kind wood is it? Is it soft wood or hard wood?
Thank you.

Our construction wood is harvested mostly from the pacific northwest and southwest Canada. Housing is constructed of softwoods(conifers). Hardwood used in home construction is usually only for cabinetry, flooring or millwork(trim).

Store? Home Depot, Lowes or a local lumber yard.

In general? Northern California, Oregon, Washington and some from B.C. Canada.
