Where can i find out if there was a savings account put into my name as a child?

I was told that i could possibly have a savings account.I would like to get it and could really use the money if it is there.

Check w/ your state's dept of revenue. Most states have laws that unclaimed funds or property be turned over to the state, and usually dept. of revenue. Most states' databases can be searched online, even.
