Ball park figures only! To landscape around the perimeter of a typical 1800 sq. ft. ranch style home.. Using median price stone, and median priced plants, what would one expect to see on an estimate!

Depends on the layout and slope of the lot - you did not mention where you were located. Anywhere between $2,000 - $10,000 depending on what you want accomplished. Better to call someone for an estimate rather than relying on the answers you receive in this forum.

Karpie - that is a new one but I'll settle for just Ted. Also note that some things can be done by yourself - landscapers hire people for other things like moving dirt, pouring concrete, etc. Look at "This Old House" - even the landscaping contractor employs subcontractors for doing some of the heavy work - he waters trees and plants.

Agree with Karpenski. Think about doing it yourself with things you find beautiful. You don't have to do it all at once, you can add to your exterior embellishments as whim, finances, and season allows....play!!!
