This might sound stupid but wondering how mellow canadians are.

I'm living in NYC and seems lots of people get pissed off so easily in here. For example, I put a gabage on wrong place today but the super was watching it, freaked out ,and yelled from the window to me to come across the street to his house. So I did and he kept yelling for whole 5 minutes at me and I kept being just apporogize.

The he gave a freaking call to my landroad so I got another angry scream.

I heard that peopl in Canada are so relaxed and don't piss off so much even in cities. Since I've never been in Canada,I'd like to hear from residents. Is that true? any comments are granted.

I know people are people, you can't say one difinition but I just want to hear from residents from there.

thank you in advance!

i wouldn't say mellow, perhaps we Canadians are just more complacent. we also tend not to voice our opinion of that which irks us, we just get ourselves in a bad mood and share the feeling in a passive agressive manner.

Well I am from Canada and I have never had anyone scream at me for putting garbage in the wrong place. But I have had some crazy guy on a bike chase after me when I was driving my car for 6 blocks and then when he finally caught up to me he screamed at me saying that I almost killed him. (Definitely wasn't even my fault, he swerved into my lane without any sort of hand signals and i had to slam on my breaks because i would have hit him... somehow from his mistake he thought that I was trying to kill him). I think everybody has the capability to have a little crazy in them, and it doesn't matter what country you live in. I have heard that we Canadians are more friendly though, yay us. I've been all over the states and Canada though, and besides some American's not knowing a whole lot about Canada I haven't noticed any difference with the way people act.

I live in Canada, and I don't find people to be mellow. I find them very sanctimonious and reserved. Americans are a lot more outgoing and friendly. As well, they are generally more talkative. At least they tell you to your face what they think, even if it is not too agreeable.

Maybe I am a traitor.

i'm from canada. it is so diverse up here. people can be uptight in places like quebec and toronto and ottawa and calgary (the bigger centres) but for the most part, i think we are fairly laid back (me especially). i may even be a pro on this subject... i've lived here my whole life (in montreal, regina, saskatoon, and vancouver), i've seen 32 of your states, and work for a huge american company (visit chicago every few months). the politics and history and liberalism up here allow people to be more 'laid back' -- but we have our problems there as well. man, i can go on forever about this subject. have a great day, eh!

uh, well, i wouldn't consider canadians "mellow" but they generally don't yell at you for things like that... so in THAT respect, they are pretty relaxed and tolerant
