It depends on your religious views. Like for instance I believe in our Almighty Saviour, Jesus Christ and I believe that when we leave our earthly home, we will be in our Heavenly home with our loved ones that has passed on. And yes, the dead can communicate with us. You don't have to "see" them with your eyes per say, but they can talk to you in your dreams or even your thoughts. These are my views of what I believe in. It just depends on your religious views.

No darl, we don't continue our existence anywhere else. If you believe in God, He tells us in His Word that when you die that is all that happens. Human beings have a spirit that sets us apart from the animals, and when we die that spirit goes back to God so He can store it in the Book of Life and that person will be resurrected in the Last Great Day (The Day of Judgment).
I hope that answers your question, love.

A good book on this is "Reflections on Life After Life" by Raymond Moody. He interviewed people who had been clinically dead but were revived. Many reported similar experiences.
A very good place to start answering these questions with your own experience is at the Monroe Institute in Virginia. Website: http://www.monroeinstitute.com/
Keep asking questions!

i honestly believe that there IS no "afterlife." it's just some idea we humans have invented because we're scared to stop existing. we love thinking, feeling, being. we never want to stop, but we know we must. so, to deny our fears, we say that there is more life after death.
since it's been proven that our actual thoughts and emotions are caused by our brains, i believe once the brain ceases to function, we cease to exist in any way, shape, or form. the "soul" is only the ghost in the machine. once the brain dies, it takes everything it ever contained with it, lost to eternity.
that's why i believe you gotta enjoy every second of life possible. you gotta reach for happiness, pursue it, and dont let it go if you find it, because some people never do.

I wonder that sometimes myself. Why did God create us to live...and then to just die. If we are believers in Jesus Christ, when we die, we go to Heaven. If not, then we go to Hell. As far as being able to communicate with the dead, I am not quite sure I believe in that. However, my Dad, who is also a Christian as I am, says that he talks with his Mom often, who died in 1999. In my opinion, I think we hear what we want to hear.

I think it would be narrow minded to assume otherwise. Our faith and hopes sometimes is what fuels our imaginations to evolve into a collective of consciousness.More and more we are finding ways to uncover the truth in the world and energies surrounding us. Here is one example of one belief system even our own governments have used in the supernatural.

I think we all stop living in the flesh and live in spirit but wait to be judge by the way we lived on earth, and those who lived according to the law of the creator (God) go to heaven and those who rejected his law and his sons sacrifice (Jesus) sadley go to hell. Thats what i beleive to be the truth.

your soul or spirit goes to be with God and your body goes back to dirt.
the soul is in another dimension and can't communicate with the living.
