Does KERRY know what he meant?
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
Was his first quote, correct? Okay... then his people say he didn't say that. Then the media shows his people the tape. 'his people' say it was a joke. Then, seeing that people did't find it funny, they say he was talking about George W. Bush... and that he won't apologise. But now he DID apologise. I'm a tad confused- would you please help me out?

Okay, I really do want to hear every side... But please don't say anything rude about the service men and women. I have a very close family friend, almost an Uncle, fighting in Iraq and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't call him an ignorant kid who is only interested in Sex, and getting High... those people don't go to war.

Surely everyone can plainly see the Bush connection to his statement. I mean there it is, in.... wait...... no, I don't see the "hidden meaning" that Kerry is sugesting, Where is the word Bush? Is there even any symbolism partaning to Bush?

Nope.

His apology was done because his party forced him to, it was an empty apology. Just yesterday Kerry demanded that Bush would apologise for his actions. Since when is Bush responisble for the words comming out of Kerry's mouth?

Is it all a big Republican strategy for votes? Or is it the dumb words of a divided man, that plainly reflect the true spirit and thinking of the Democrats? Hmmm...

That's a tough one.

What a funny joke, but Kerry never laughed, maybe because he realizes that the jokes on him, and that he just betrayed his own party.

LOL

Yeah, I'm confused too. I think he spoke the truth. The country is being set up so that the wealthy will be comfortable and above the draft and the other 95 percent will die in foreign wars, or live on the street while the five percent drive by in limos. There's a huge class war going on.

Kids who can't get into college, who haven't got the clout to get a good paying job, are going to end up in the military. Kerry knows that. Most of the American public seems not to know it yet.

Kerry said it. It was true. But because Kerry is just another spineless politician he wont't stand behind his own words. Somebody give me a third party to vote for. And while you're at it, give me voting machines I trust.

We live on the edge of a fascist state.

Believe it.

Does Kerry even know what he said? Is that why he wound up in Viet Nam, because he did not study hard, do his homework and make an effort to be smart? If he did it was a failed effort!

If you watch the entire speech he was talking about GW Bush not the soldiers in Iraq. Unfortunately most news outlets, and none of the major networks have let you hear that entire speech, only the botched joke which taken out of context makes him sound like he is dissing the troops.

You have quoted correctly. What he meant to say was if you will end up sending people to Iraq. This was an attempted joke at Geo. W.'s expenst that went very wrong.

Kerry meant he thinks our troops are stupid, thats why he chucked his medals over the fence. Because it might cost him some votes, he's back peddling. If he really knew what he meant, he'd stick by whatever story he chose to tell. But he cant figure out how to escape the heat, so he's trying all sorts of alternatives to see which one makes people the least pissed. But he really meant the troops are stupid

The comment was aimed at Bush. But Bush spun it around to trying to make Kerry look like a bad guy.
