Anna Anderson failed the paternity test of the Romanov's. Sorry. The little girl they found buried in the road in Russia passed the test along with the little boy, showing they must have been both Anastasia and her younger brother. Sad isn't it? Was nice to believe that they could have lived. However the Romanov line is not dead so chin up!
The family was found buried in a road, with their nurses. Their bodies were all their and their corpses were identified independently by DNA tests.

No. When they found the remains of the Russian royal family (in the mineshaft), they were able to account for the bodies, and Anastacia was amongst them.
Before the bodies were found, Anna Anderson could never prove her case in court. She spent years trying to convince people that she was Anastacia, but there was never enough evidence to prove this. I can't recall if Anna died before or after the bodies were found, but I remember reading that the finding of the bodies was definitely the final proof that Anderson was not Anastacia. There were many claimants who surfaced after the murders, and none could prove their case.
What a fascinating story, though. I was always intrigued with this mystery. There was a very good TV movie years ago about this, featuring Amy Irving.

No. She did not survive the extermination of her family. This has been proven through genetic testing on remains found at the execution site. Anna Anderson was a member of the royal household (perhaps a servant) as she had knowledge of information only privy to such a person. There are many good books about there about this. Head to Amazon.com and look some up. They are interesting reads.

I don't know about Anna Anderson. But I read a book by Dr. Maples who was a forensic anthropologist at UF (he died while I was attending there :( I'd've liked to have met him.)
He went through the official family remains and it's not conclusive who he found. He thinks one of them was Anastasia, but...there were a number of skeletons and they could have been family or close relations...there's not much way to tell. He found some who definitely looked like some of the family, like the czar and czarina, but the others...not conclusive.
As far as anything goes with that--it's a lot of speculation. But since many traditionally royal families in Europe are related (like Germany, Russia, England, France, and Spain), I'd say they'd be the best source of info. But they're not talking.

The latest research seems to indicate that Anastasia died during the Romanov purge, but that one of her older sisters lived. Sorry, I can't remember which one it was. She was rescued by a commoner, married him and lived her life in seclusion. Quite understandably, she didn't want to draw attention to herself and have the government death squads come to finish the job.
As for Anna Anderson, the current thinking is that she was a nursemaid, or someone in the employ of the Romanovs, who slipped away when the royal family was rounded up. DNA testing showed that she wasn't Anastasia, but her history suggests that her position in the household put her close enough to the royal children that she was able to learn many details about their private lives and thus to carry off her pretense to being Anastasia.
It's an area that continues to be clouded by suspicion, and regardless of what forensic evidence suggests, some peope are going to continue to believe that Anastasia escaped and survived.

Unlikely
"Anderson's body was cremated upon her death in 1984. Following Anderson's death, DNA tests were performed comparing Anderson's DNA to the known bloodline of Grand Duchess Anastasia. The DNA tests did not prove to be a match, suggesting that Anderson was neither Anastasia nor related to Anastasia."

it has been established she (Anna Anderson ) is not the Duchess anastacia in 1990, through DNA , she was the peasent girl from Poland. Her nephew's DNA matched hers. Sooooooo, I guess the whole family is gone.
Did you know that the Tzar's sister Duchess Olga lived on her farm in Ontario Canada?

First place, her name was Anastasia Romanov. When Anna Anderson died her DNA was tested and it was proven that she was NOT Anastasia. No one survived that night in the cellar.

Her body was never found but she wasn't Anna Anderson because they compared DNA and it didn't match.
PS. Her brother's body was also missing
