because there are a lot of young and energetic, open minded people to choose from... also, a company would only pay them half of your salary, because of lack of experience

I don't know about where you live, but were I live they have a program for people that are over 60. One other thing you might try is try to get hired at a temp. agency. If the employer likes the way that you work they might hire you full time. I think a lot of company's are doing this now. I wish you all the best.

If you have worked for a company in the past, try looking if they are hiring. Companies now are looking for employees with experience and if they don't need to train you or just update you, they'll like it. Its a new trend.

You're so close to retirement age. They don't want to have to train someone in a few years when you retire. Plus, the health care is usually higher.
