George W. Bush and his advisers, with their obsessive focus on Saddam Hussein, transformed the 9/11 recall-a-thon into a prep session for war. They have exploited a terrible event for their next crusade. And on their watch, the horror of that day has been used not to lessen the distance between America and the rest of the world but to increase it, as other nations recoil from and fear Bush's march to war.
"Now stay the Course" means to continue this nightmare of a war till Bush the decider decides his "mission is accomplished"

Are you one of the terrorists??? Hmmm?
Stay the course simply means that we should stay in Iraq until we have turned a new democracy over to its own government, but not until they are able to handle it. By Not staying the course we will be allowing the terrorist insurgents to wreak more havoc in Iraq like they have been doing all along to try to make America get discouraged and pull out. We cannot do that because not only would we be breaking our promise to the real Iraqi people to help them, but we would be leaving our own country wide open for more terrorist attacks. Remember that most of the terrorist insurgents in Iraq are coming out of Iran and Syria and are not the Iraqi people. They are the ones who have no problem murdering innocent women and children to further their cause. The American soldiers are not the ones doing that.
You say the war is useless, but it is not at all. If we were not fighting the terrorists who have vowed to destroy us as a nation to have all the opportunity they need to do so, then they would be fighting us over here and killing more American civilians.

"Stay the course" means to keep things going as they currently are. A "useless war" is only in the eyes of some of the beholders. If all our men over there felt that way, our troops would be inilated. When someone or a group gives up, particularly in war, their ability to fight weakens and they don't see as they do when they haven't given up.

"Nearly 12 million of you braved the car bombers and assassins last December to vote in free elections. The world saw you hold up purple ink-stained fingers, and your courage filled us with admiration. You've stood firm in the face of horrendous acts of terror and sectarian violence -- and we will not abandon you in your struggle to build a free nation. America and our coalition partners will continue to stand with the democratic government you elected. We will continue to help you secure the international assistance and investment you need to create jobs and opportunity, working with the United Nations and through the International Compact with Iraq endorsed here in New York yesterday. We will continue to train those of you who stepped forward to fight the enemies of freedom. We will not yield the future of your country to terrorists and extremists." "We will help your democracy succeed, so it can become a beacon of hope for millions in the Muslim world."
Address to the Iraqi people.
President George W. Bush

If you are truely interested, which I doubt, The Iraq Strategy is available to read. This is in the second report to be released. http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/iraq/iraq_strategy_nov2005.html
That you don`t know this means you get your news in 3 second sound bites from the Broadcast networks and Liberal websites. It is amazing how uninformed liberals are and they believe they know everything.
Daydoom said it well and exactly what we are doing.

It means listen to no one except the same advisers who have been screwing the pooch since day one. Time for the twins to suit up and join this just and noble cause.
Oh course, all Bush's are cowards. Easy to send someone else off to do your dirty work while they sit pampered and safe.

Stay the course means continue to pursue the goals you set forth from the beginning but adjust your strategy to meet those goals as you need to.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Stay the course means keep the country stable until the new democracy can fend for itself. That has been the plan from the beginning. You want to blame the escalating violence on someone, BLAME YOURSELF! The terrorists are listening to the stupid things the loony lefties are saying and they are escalating their efforts to further divide our Country.
