Depends where you are. Not all city blocks are the same. In Manhattan, 20 street blocks = 1 mile, but 5 avenue blocks = 1 mile. In Boston the size of the blocks are totally random.

In ocean city NJ it's 10 blocks= 1 mile

There is no set mesure as the length of a block is variable due to the size of lots dictating the size of a block
