some might think that the environment causes behavior. Others put more weight on individual choice. Is it the parents who hold the blame?

well, if that person is taunted or made fun of all their life, they might see it as a way of revenge. their environment definitly effects their choices, if theyre around other people that commit crimes a lot they dont see those crimes as so bad anymore. of course the individual is the one to blame, unless the parents commit crimes too. or if they commited crimes before and talk about it casually. they say videogames and television causes a lot of crime, thats BS. its what the person chooses to do, if they wanna follow a criminal from a form of media, thats their bad choice and its not the media's fault. plus sometimes if a kid hears too much about a crime and people constantly talk about how bad it is bla bla bla, it might make them want to rebel. just because it annoys them. a lot of young people are rebels anyways. and it just depends on their psycological health. maybe diet has something to do with it too.

I think that some people when they are very young have a hard time visualizing their future. They might think that wherever they are in the moment is all that they will ever have or be. They certainly can't be thinking of the consequences, because no one in their right mind would carry through with something that permanently takes away your liberty. Once you get to a certain age you can't blame your parents. I think it's more weighted on individual choices.

I think it depends on that person's family and the way they grew up. But people do know right from wrong so I guess it is safe to say that it is based upon the action's of a person. Another factor could be that person's emotional, mental, and spiritual state. I think that what was planted in that person's head while growing up has some sort of impact too. But as far as what drives a person to commit crime, I wish I knew myself.

As a mother of 2, I have, and still hold myself responsible for the behavior of my kids, and grandchildren. I believed if I sit a good example from their birth until death(theirs or mine) that it will truily live in them from now on, and they would pass the good on to their kids. We are a society of kids having kids, and raising them in some of the most horrific conditions. We have to teach them early what the consequences will be. They should be taught the difference in right & wrong at a very early age. Set their standard of life that they want high. Nothing in life is out of our reach of possibility, education, self esteem, and most of all the belief in 'God". Because through him you can reach anything. I know its possible, both of my girls, and son-inlaws are all college grads., and I'm very proud. But if I had not truily cared, and monitored my childrens every move, there is not much telling how my children had turned out. I knew when, where, how & with who my children were with. So I believe it is truily up to the parents in forming how our children turn out., like I said, look what they accomplished with my guidance!! Not bragging, just stating.

Environment. Let's take kids who homeschool for example. They have a very healthy environment, no violence, drugs, etc. And homeschool kids and teens, are much much much less likely to commit crimes.
