I have found that the best way to get rid of things that are bad that bother me are to get them out either on paper on by typing them in a blog. It's almost like you free yourself from them and the paper or the computer handles the burden of them from that time on. I know it may sound weird but it truly works, at least for me.

I don't really think you can forget most of your bad memories. You just have to learn how to deal with the bad things that have happen and learn how to move on.Some memories that I have are bad ones and those are the only ones I have of my dad,I don't like them but without them I wouldn't have anything so I think I hold on to them so I don't forget him.

go to Dr Emmett Millers website (you can google it). he sells a cd called "letting go" that can really help... i needed it and it worked... it slowly walks you through taking the bad memories, images, feelings, whatever it is and putting them away. with effort and practice you can learn to put the memories away... you will never forget them, the are part of who you are but Dr Miller is very helpful at teaching you to put them in a place you control so they don't control you.

good luck
