does this not just prove that they are human and we all make mistakes from time to time! i think we all expect our government bodies to be whiter than white, take big bill clinton, he was well kicked into touch for liking a cigar or two, tony blair, he likes chase the bone that george likes to throw for him! point is why are we surprised when we find this out, they are no different than us, and prone to debt, run ins with the law etc

The people who make laws have previously broken them? I find this very intresting. And I didn't even know there was 535 members. But about voting I'm sure people who run will be people arrested for some of these reasons too.

i really hate the part about voting themselves $15,000 per month pension for life after serving only one year in congress. it only seems like this guy only served to gain an easy living.
is this $15,000 coming out of the citizen's tax money?
i hate how the governments wastes everyone's money for their own benefit.

This is so stupid, they make all that money and don't do a dam thing, that's is why they fight so hard to stay in power, not because they want to fix anything, but because of the money they get and the health care for their families, all they are thinking about is their retirement and easy street. And it doesn't matter who you vote in because once they get in their, they don't want to let go of that easy money, and if their not crooked when they go in they will be once their in. Power corrupts.

-50% payroll reduction, without liquidating their staffs
-Elimination of legal financial perks (Believe me, expense accounts on Capitol Hill are SVEET!!!)
-Reduction of pension by 75%, and eligibility is garnered only after the completion of a full term
That's what they need, up on the Hill!

Ok.
Take your neighborhood for example. The hundred people who live closest to you.
If you really knew them. I mean, REALLY knew them,
you'd find about the same percentage of 'criminals' among them.
The world isn't perfect.
But you know that already.
