I have been to several. Most have been great! Lovely rooms, very clean, great food. You can meet some lovely people to talk to or watch TV with. I only had a problem one time. The B&B had four bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own bathroom. The walls were kind of "thin" and there was one guy in one of the rooms who farted all night long. For a while he sounded like a motorcycle, then like a howitzer, then like a shot gun. Several tiimes his wife went down stairs for a breath of fresh air. The next morning at breakfast, no one sat near him.

I've done the B&B thing all over the country and I am hooked.
Usually the same price as a moderate hotel and you generally get a more comfortable place, MUCH better food, and you get to meet people, both the innkeepers and any other guests.
I've stayed at gay owned and straight owned and have never had a bad experience, whether alone or with a boyfriend.

Yes. It is like a community experience though. There is not as much privacy as a hotel and sometimes you have to share a bathroom. Sometimes you have to report for meals at a certain time as well.

Yes I have and I hated it. It was very weird staying at someone's house. It felt intrusive and weird to be eating at their dining room table. Some people like the friendliness, i like impersonal hotels better. The whole experience was strange.... i like hotels much better.

I am gay and 55 and retired Dept of the Army and I traveled the entire US and stayed in many. Most were really great. Few so-so, and rare to have a bad stay. Would recommend, but, being gay and young, I would bet you would have better stay in hotel - motel.
