I am remodeling my home and have the option to run a gas line outside to hook into a barbeque. I don't have the space to do a built in so need to buy a standalone bbq - do they sell regular gas grills that hook into house gas lines and what are the pros and cons of this vs. a regular propane tank grill?

We installed a natural gas grill from Weber. We like it very much. The only problem is we are moving, and will now have to pay to run a gas stub to the patio in the new house. So, you should consider how long you plan on staying in the house.
I will say this, it sure is nice not having to keep an eye on the propane level! ;)

Propane burns much hotter. My preference was the gas line and found it easier to control the temperature. Especially if you want a real low heat. Now I'm a "charcoal only" outdooor chef.

Sure. You do need to install an orifice that is like a water saver disc that you install in the gas line as it goes into the furnace. Contact your gas company or furnace maker for the right orifice. It is no big deal, but it must be done.
