You're obviously too young to appreciate them so you should just stick to Christina, Brittany, and "Fidy Cent" since they seem to be what your generation considers quality music. Once you do a bit of livin and experience some adversity and real heartache in life you may relate to Rod better. Just give yourself time you may see the light. Remember some of his "crappy songs" were number one on the charts when you were just a sparkle in your daddy's eye.

Crappy is all a matter of taste my friend. obviously Rod thinks they are songs worth singing and if it's good enough for him and his throngs of fans then I say go Rod. Worse things could happen I mean we live in a world where even Brooke Hogan can record and album.

Because he's reached the stage of his career where he can sing whatever he likes, and if it doesn't sell, it doesn't matter.

I've been a Rod Stewart fan since he was with Faces, and I think it beats what he was doing with Faces.

He knows what he is doing. He's singing to the ones his age! They loved him in the earlier years and like he, they have grown older! No one can do it like Rod!

Well, no one else is going to sing them so he has no competition. His audience is probably only older people who remember the songs (and him) from years ago. They wouldn't care if he sang them bad since they have their memories of the songs to get through the concert.

LOL A friend of the family, she's 75 years old, said, "Who is that cute little fella, he sure likes to sing!" Even after we explained him she did not know who he was! Like her, he is harmless so let him croon away.

I've been wondering that myself...

My theory is that, because he's older now, he's attempting to retain his own age group as listeners. Sadly, it sounds TERRIBLE! I loved him all through the mid-90's, but I just can't stand to listen to his rendition of the "classics".

Bring back Maggie May, Every Picture Tells a Story, etc. - please!

Like all the other aging rockers, they think they still sound hot. He's probably trying to make a come back, must be running short of cash or something. They all do it eventually.

"crappy" is just your opinion and not everyone thinks they are "crappy"
