Would you prefer polygamy or monogamy? Why?
Personally, I think that monogamy is right. I'm not religious or anything, I just couldn't be with someone that wanted anyone else, too.

It really depends on the person. If you manage to find someone with whom you can spend the rest of your life, that's great. If you need more than one partner to be happy, that's just fine too.

i dont really know. i used to think monogamy was the way to go, but one person for the rest of your life? i dont know. i kind of like the idea of an open relationship. i think if there was a couple and then a third one came in like to stay as a group, there would be ganging up, and favorites, and maybe two of them dont get along with each other as much as they each do with the other person. hard to explain what i mean.
but i think a couple who occasionally has extra people for fun or whatever could be alright.
or maybe if i had like one boyfriend who gave me, say, sex and i dont know, nice dinners or whatever, and then another boyfriend who gave me more of an emotional relationship, see what i mean here? if you cant find one person who can give you everything you need, maybe you need to get it from different people.
but i still havent worked out whats the right thing.

Neither is more right or wrong to me, but I can't imagine being in a polygamous relationship. It's hard enough to handle being with one person! I also think a lot of stupid people use it as an excuse to just have more partners, rather than a true lifestyle choice.

That said, I love the idea of polygamous relationships that do work, and I'm immensely attracted to the concept of "emotional" menage a trois- ones where no sex is involved but the threesome is still very tight.

Monogamy?

Give it 5 years in marriage. You'll both want somebody else. I've solved the problem by having a girlfriend who HAS girlfriends.

To each his own.

Yeah, I agree. Monogamy is best. I like being in an exclusive relationship.
Polygamy is still practiced in many places around the world, especially in West Africa.

Monogamy is the way for me! :) I don't see why having a little casual relations(with your partner involved----not cheating on them) on the side is bad but only one real relationship! every once in a while i like some spice

Monogamy. Polygamy would just be so dramatic, and I could only want one person.

Tried duogamy, didn't work. Ergo, I'll say monogamy

Monogamy because I'm a possessive freak... I want to own my man! Sorta kidding... You can be more of yourself if you achieve a level of intimacy with one person... If you screw everything, then you are spreadin' (pun intended) yourself too thin.

i don't like monogamy, i feel that idealy i'd have an open relationship with one main partner - in reality that can be difficult. the idea of actually commiting to more than one partner very scary....
