miscarriage? when is it safe to have sex?

Okay i know its too soon right now, i miscarried yesterdya how do they tell if they have to do a dnc?? does anyone know and when are you able to have sex again?? i know that may sound kinda stupid but i want to know...they didnt tell me anything at the er just set me up to c a surgeon tomorrow to c if they have to do one i was wondering how they do it thanks for the help

last month i just went through the same thing as you, my doctor did an ultra sound afer i was done miscarriaing, and i had to go back every week to make sure the hcg levels were going down, because if they stay the same or go up that could mean something was left inside and they would need to do a d&c. It took my levels 1 month for them to go back down to normal.thats good that you went to the er, they know best and it will be better if you have the d&c to get cleaned out for the next time you try to get pregnant. anD I WAITED UNTIL I STOPPED BLEEDING TO HAVE SEX.

I miscarried at 8 weeks pregnant. I had a DNC because I was four days from having my wedding so the doc went ahead and done it. I am not quiet sure how they tell other than checking to make sure you pass all of the fetus. They actually dialate your cervix and clean the uterus. It doesn't hurt because you are put to sleep. I had hardly no bleeding afterwards and I still had the wedding as planned. It was very hard for me to overcome it still hurts sometimes and scares me because I am pregnant now and my pregnancy with my daughter was very hard. I was constantly in the hospital with bleeding.

If you passed the "tissue" during your miscarriage, then you will not need a d&c. I was 10weeks and miscarried and didn't have a d&c. I was told not to have sex until 1month after. I was also told it was safe to try again to get pregnant after 1 normal period. I have another friend who was told not to try to get pregnant again until 3 months. I am now 26 weeks pregnant and having a normal (so far) baby girl.

depending on how far along you are, they will have to do a D&C. Normally after two months they perfer you do one. when they do it, they will knock you out and perform a surgery on you that you won't remember. It is actually a nicer way to go threw this. It is same day surgery now. After you will bleed for like a few days, then when you are done bleeding sex is safe. Although they perfer you wait for a normal period before you try to become pregnant again. Ask the surgen for more details, but is actually a decent surgery that you won't hurt much from. sorry for your loss.

wow the hospital told me there opinion about the dnc if they thought I needed one or not yet they referred me back to my ob. Luckily I did NOT have to have one. My doctor told me that I could try to start ASAP although when you DO get preg. if it is EARLY meaning before 2 months do NOT have sex the first few months of finding out the pregnancy because it can interrupt the process. I believe the procedure is done by scraping the uterus wall. Forgive me if i misspelled that. And i would not be worrying about sex right now. You could cause furter damage that could lead to bigger problems and god forbid, may not be able to have children from complications. Have sex when your doctors says it is safe.

I think after u have stopped bleeding -- u shoudl wait atleast 3 weeks before u have sex again
