That's a fair question.
Kind was under suspicion during the 60s as being a communist because some of his close friends were out-of-the-closet communist. With that note, he always adamantly stated that he wasn't a communist.
All we have to go on is his word because there was never any evidence to the contrary... such as he never attended any communist meetings etc...
He leaned very socialist and I think that is why many thought he was secretly a communist.

You won't like the answer. The short version is, yes, he was a communist. The long answer is much of the King legacy is a manipulation by communists. After he was killed, they stole his life essentially and created a myth to advance their own agenda. In doing so, they have done incredible damage to the african american community. It is this event that marks the beginning of a pattern of black leaders who betray their own people to advance a sick agenda. It's the reason why you have people like Farrakahn preaching racism against jews and whites (and other hate filled fun) while smiling and shaking hands with mass murderers the world over (who just happen to still keep blacks as slaves, I might add).
King is perhaps the biggest and most insidious of the liberal lies.
King was neither a minister nor a doctor. Nor was Martin Luther his real name. However, he was a card carrying communist.

Not to my knowledge. Remember, in the 60's, everyone who was social, reformist or for civil rights was easily labelled "communist".

NO! He was a man who wanted equality for his race. The problem today is the people who are representing the black race are racists themselves.
