Not iMac. Please not iMac. Not iMac.

Get Windows 2000. Soo much better than iMac. And don't believe that "Mac is for playing Windows is for business" because it's not true. Most games work better on XP than a Mac, and Windows is better to do business on too.

Definetely laptop.
Reasons:
-Cheaper Price
-Higher software compatibility
-Higher hardware compatibility
-Parts are very cheap, easy to upgrade
-Easier to use, has right click button
-You know whats going on with status lights

Even if you don't like windows, get a laptop and install whatever you want on it. You can't do that on some imac. When I first tried using one, I thought they were good, cool, etc. But I had trouble typing with their nonstandard keyboard, and could not bear using one button to click. It just slowed me down. Next I wanted to save the document, and it had no floppy drive! Since mac CD burners are very expensive, it just had a CD-ROM drive. So I put a flash drive in, and saved it. When I was about to exit the program it froze, and when I tried resetting it it just made this music sound, and I did not even know what was going on since it lacked status lights. When I plugged the drive at home, turns out it put a bunch of junk onto my drive-some folders and temp. files, but I could not open the document nor any saved web pages! Turns I had to click some icon before removing the flash drive from a mac due to drive caching. I grew tired of this and succeeded in opening those files in Linux.
This is my experience with Macs. I just had to type all of this up because I hate how people love their Macs, buying them just because they look curved and shiny, even with the extra $1,000 price tag.
