Okay, I am 21 weeks along with my baby girl, my first child. Whenever we see her on ultrasound she is moving and very very active. My ob says she is very healthy and growing just like she should be. The thing is, my placenta is located under my belly button, in the front of me, so I rarely feel my baby girl kick unless its off to the side of my body. My ob said that it's perfectly fine for my placenta to be located there and I will feel my baby alot more when she gets alot bigger. Has anyone else ever heard of this or had this?

Most placentas are on the posterior wall of the uterus (closest to your spine), but some are anterior (closer to your belly). Remember, a placenta previa and an anterior placenta are not the same thing. As long as you do not have a placenta previa, the location of the placenta is not important. I had an anterior placenta (not a previa), and never worried about it.
"In most pregnancies, the placenta is implanted on the back wall (posterior). In your case, it is situated on the front wall (anterior). This is unusual, but not unheard of. It is certainly nothing to worry about."

in fact i have heard of this. i used to be a nursing assistant at a hospital in north carolina, i worked on the matenity floor and with the babies. its not all that uncommon for the placenta to be located in the front of the uterous. in fact this happens a lot in pregnancies and the women didnt really know about it. you just happen to find out. if your only about 21 weeks along and yor doctor is pretty sure nothing is wrong, dont sweat it. its probably the baby moving around or the way the placenta grew. it should correct itself before delivery and then there is the off chance that the placenta will be delivered before the baby. dont worry if that happens, since this is your first, the doctors and nurses will be able to monitor the baby before, during and after delivery. if everything goes well in your pregnancy things should go well during the birthing process too. its not that uncommon for the placenta to be delivered first, trust me i have seen a lot of births and about 25% of them the placenta was delivered first. good luck and i hope you have a happy health baby.

Yup, you're just fine as is your daughter. Don't worry at all-as long as the placenta is in an upper position in your uterus and not close to the cervix lower, it is in a perfect position.

Yep, I had the same thing. It did take longer for me to feel her but by the end of it I had little feet in my ribs all the time. You will feel more movement soon.

Don't worry! It's perfectly normal. If your doctor says that the baby is fine, then, she is!
Congratulations!!!
