Include this in your essay
Kerry`s statements just prove how the Democrats have true contempt for the Military.
1.The Military is better educated than the general population.
2.The Military is all volunteer.
3. One can not join without a minimum of a high school degree.
4. 73.3 percent of the Enlisted Military have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree. 85 percent of officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.
5. Dropouts can not get in the Military. They have to go to Mc Donalds.
6. Bush out performed with better grades Kerry in the same school and Bush went further.
7. There is no draft that takes underachieving kids out of school and sends them to war, that was the Vietnam war.
8. Kerry was talking to students about education.
So Kerry`s joke doesn`t fit and he was stating what he believed about a Military he has contempt for. The "Joke" was damage control for the gullible.
As Bush got better grades than Kerry I guess the joke was supposed to mean...What? A Liberal insult. As you can see by some of the comments here there are lots of liberals that agree with him that soldiers are stupid.
Senator McCain wants an apology too.

The controversy erupted after Kerry told a California audience Monday: "Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Of course, since Kerry and Bush are brother members of the satanic Skull and Bones cult, Kerry may have just been following orders like George does. Sure does fit the timing.

AP: The jab was designed to recall Kerry's inartful comment from the last election that he had voted for $87 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan before he voted against it.
Two days ago, Kerry stirred controversy when he told a group of California students that individuals who don't study hard and do their homework would likely "get stuck in Iraq." Aides said the senator had mistakenly dropped one word from his prepared remarks, which was originally written to say "you end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq." In that context, they said, it was clear Kerry was referring to Bush, not to the troops.
REUTERS: Kerry told the students that if they studied hard they could do well, but if they did not "you get stuck in Iraq." His office said he misread his text, and he intended to say "You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."
Kerry later said his remarks were aimed at President George W. Bush and his Iraq policies, not the military. Republicans, who had blanketed Kerry with criticism for the past 36 hours, accepted his apology.

I heard a liberal Democrat say today, "You know I hate to admit it, but there is some truth to what Kerry said." Just proves what I've been saying all along, the liberals just don't get it!

The jist was: " If you go to school and work hard and study your can succeed in life; if not you will end up in Iraq. He meant to say that " you will end up sending us to Iraq". A barb at Geo. W. He botched the joke.

He told a bunch of kids to get an education, or else you could end up in Iraq. ( Basically putting down everyone who has ever gone to war). According to him, the punch line was supposed to be,"just look a George W. Bush". I don't find it funny either way, botched or not.
