Those are the best reasons but, all birth control methods fail at least 8-12% of the time. Now, multiply those odds by the amount of times sex is taking place at any given time, kinda makes you think huh? Well, the two time method is best, either a condom and spermicide or condom and the pill but, always the condom. Some people that are married have to use condoms, the HPVirus does not discriminate...married women can get it from genital warts if their husbands have them and the warts cause the virus and the virus is the majot cause of women having cervical cancer, most the women I know have had it...really. They just don't know that that is how they got it. No contact unless the man has a clear health record is what I advise. I don't want anything...not from anyone, and there are a lot of diseases and pregnancy is only one risk you take these days. No contact without a condom, period.

If by "safe" you mean physically, those are the only reasons I can think of. To be "safe" emotionally, I can't have more than one partner at a time. I need more than just the Act to get involved with someone, and even though many people don't act that way I don't think they feel very good about a promiscuous lifestyle.

You might use condoms to have better sex. They have regular ones, ones with rings on them ( called ribbed), ones with kinda like little raised bumps all over. So it could be for a pleasure thing.

In some men it can prolong the sex act, as it makes the penis less sensitive.
