Star Wars is a Myth. A myth is any story where a person goes through a journey of discovery. Where they "find themselves" in the mythical woods (the world of the unknown) and come out of it a new person (think Luke Skywalker, who grew up to become a full Jedi). So, that's your example. Of course it doesn't have to be that long, lol.
Just make the Rose (a wonder that has magical properties of some kind) a reward for some boy or girl who travels the world, discovering the "secrets" that keeps their village from growing or moving forward. While discovering the magical secrets beyond the village, he meets new people, perhaps his father (finding ones Father is a BIG deal in mythology (again, Star Wars) usually the father set out to finish the quest but was unable or got caught up on the wrong side. Finishing the quest, doing away with the BAD GUY and saving the father is usually what its about.
Joseph Campbell was the EXPERT on the mythology and what it meant. He was a great great friend of George Lucas and Lucas wrote Star Wars based on Campbells mythology work. Campbell has many, many mythology books written as well as DVD's filmed at Skywalker Ranch. Their awesome to watch him speak of myths and how they were made originally thousands of years ago and today, and both are practically the same.
Good luck!

Invent a story approximately how the unsightly weeds concealed the princess below their thorny branches and stored her from the invading demons, and as a present the weeds have been became to roses so their outer appears could fit the internal cosmetic in their characters. Because the princess used to be honestly touring earth from the sacred moon of Isis and had godlike powers.

how about??? Why the rose has thorns- a very beautiful woman falls in love with a man. However, she is very vain and he cannot stand her vanity and marries another. she cannot stand to be rejected and she seeks vengeance and tries to kill him. her murder attempts turn on her and she ends up dying instead of him. the gods make a beautiful rose grow in the place she dies, the rose to signify her beauty, and the thorns of the rose stand as a rememberance of the malice in her heart that led to her death.
