The politicians in America have ignored the basics of the Constitution almost since it's inception. Check out your facts. There was an original clause in the Constitution that stated if this document did not work anymore that it would be time to establish a new one. But, the politicians added an amendment that makes a person a traitor if they try to change the document in question. So, who is more guilty?

Both liberal and conservatives have burned flags when it met their need to get their voices heard.

Both liberals and conservatives in the Executive Branch have attempted to subvert the Constitution in the past. The big difference was in the past there was always the Supreme Court and/or Congress to stand in their way. Today that is not the case. In an attempt to consolidate and hold power forever a corrupt administration has decided to ignore the most sacred of documents. While they were doing this the GOP led Congress has ceded their congressional rights, responsibilities and powers to this executive branch with nary a whimper. They to have seen that power and corruption go hand in hand as long as the people are kept concerned about other things, kept scared about their personal and economic safety and kept distracted by issues like gay marriage and religion in our schools. Even worse the Judicial Branch, usually the most willing to stand up to power grabs like the one currently being done, has turned out to be nothing more than a rubber stamp and an increasingly corrupt one at that as well. It appears that seats on the bench are now for sale under this administration (http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/10/31/money_trail/index.html)

So while I will never fear my flag being burned because it is only a symbol that can easily be replaced with 1,000,000 more, I fear greatly about the destruction of our Constitution, because it is only one piece of paper that once shredded by a corrupt administration, congress and judiciary, may never be restored.

What do you mean Cons? Conservatives? I think you may be in error there.

The Democrats are constantly trying to remove the Second Amendment: The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

The Second Amendment protects the First Amendment.

Once we can't oppose a tyrannical government, (Hilary Clinton), we'll lose or right to free speech.

Then we'll be like any other country with a Dictator.

In my opinion: Anyone that burns the American Flag should have his asss removed. Then be dumped in North Korea or the Middle East.

Would some liberal please explain to me exactly how the conservatives are supposed to be burning or trashing the Constitution. Not some generic accusation, but a specific example with verifiable facts, and preferrably a victim who's right(s) were violated?

The libs are plenty capable of it. I seem to remember citizens of New Orleans having their firearms confiscated by the police after Katrina. So much for the right to keep and bear arms as provided in the 2nd Amendment.

It is ridiculous to take such offence at somone burning the flag. It is a way of protesting and showing a critical view of the country's government and what they are doing for the nation. You can burn a flag in order support what, in your opinion, is what is best for the nation it represents.

I am appalled that Christian conservatives would have discrimination written INTO the Constitution.
If it were the 1950's, given the opportunity, they would have written racial discrimination into the Constitution as well.
